My First Liebster Award!!

A few days ago, I was nominated for a Liebster Award by Chrisie at Fingers and Toads. For only having just started, and having 9 followers, this is pretty exciting! The Liebster Award is given to new bloggers with less than 200 followers. It was really interesting to find out how it originally started and to see how much it has changed over the last couple of years or so.

Here is how it works!

1. Each person tagged must post 11 things about themselves.
2. They must also answer the 11 questions the 'tagger' has set for them.
3. They must create 11 more questions to ask bloggers they have decided to tag.
4. They must then choose 11 bloggers with less than 200 followers and tag them in their post.
5. These lucky bloggers must then be told.
5. There's no tag backs.

Here are 11 things about me!

1. I REALLY AM 30!!!
2. I've been married for almost 7 years.
3. I have 2 kids.. Jessica is 6 and Eli will be 2 next month!
4. I was in the US Army briefly. I say briefly because I didn't even make it out of Basic Training.. LOL
5. I love to read! My book collection is way bigger than my nail polish collection.
6. I lived in Canada for almost 2 years.
7. I don't mind doing laundry, I just hate folding it, hanging and putting it away.
8. My toes are naked!
9. I start Christmas shopping for the kiddos a few months early. I'm not one to wait for Black Friday to snag some good deals. I'm of the belief that if you do smart shopping throughout the year, you can find good deals on stuff and not have to deal with the crowds and limited stock.
10. I have 7 plants sitting on the very top of my desk.
11. My bedroom is a disaster area. See #7. Everything is in baskets and hampers!

MSMD - Jelly Sandwich & Stamping

Howdy!! While catching up on blogs this weekend, and discovering new blogs, I came across this awesome mani at Let Them Have Polish!. I immediately had to do this. Spent a while trying to think if I had a pink jelly I could use. Found something in my stash I thought would work, and lo and behold! It WAS a jelly!! I was super excited!! For this mani, I used 2 coats of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in VIP Pink, layered 2 coats of OPI Pirouette My Whistle over that, and added another coat of VIP Pink. Applied my favorite top coat and stamped with plate BM-321 (from the 2012 collection) and WnW Black Creme. If anyone could recommend a great black polish to stamp with, I would greatly appreciate it! I've tried WnW and Sinful Colors and I don't like how crisp the stamping is NOT with these :( Please ignore the tip wear! I do a lot of typing at work, so I get tip wear quickly. PS!! The yellow spots are actually reflections of the ceiling light! :)

As always, thank you for stopping by!!

More Dotticures!

I just love the words the nail polish community come up! :)

So we recently got a new package deal through our cable provider and our internet has been wonky since we got the new cable modem/telephone dealio. We can't all be online at the same time without someone getting booted, and I can't connect wirelessly with my laptop without kicking my husband offline when he's on his PS3. Which really sucks, because we have HBO and I can watch True Blood online instead of waiting for each disc to come in the mail from Netflix. So anyway, hubby calls the cable company and come to find out, our wireless router is pretty much ancient (!) and we have to get a new one.. so back to the point I was trying to make.. I was sitting at my computer, watching Season 1 of True Blood, and decided to paint my nails! And I got out the dotting tools because I had just come across this awesome dotticure on Crazy Nail Lady's blog and subconsciously tried to recreate it. When I was done, I kept thinking to myself, where did I see this at?! So enough of my babbling and rambling.. on to the pictures!!

This is 3 coats of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri In a Flurry dotted with Sinful Colors Snow Me White and SH In a Flurry. Maybe if I hadn't been so engrossed with True Blood, it would've turned out better :\ But I still love it!

Let me know what you think!! :)

Leopard Spots

Howdy-do!! Happy Tuesday night!! Tomorrow is Hump Day! :D

Since I started getting back into nail polish and having recently discovered that there is a nail polish COMMUNITY!!, my polish collection has somehow decided to grow! So to keep the hubby from complaining about all the polish I've been buying, I've been doing my nails every 3 days :) For this mani, I decided to try my hand at leopard spots. I guess it looks okay, but I think the next time I attempt this, I'm going to use a striping brush and try a different technique :) And on to the pictures!! :)

For the base, I used China Glaze Swing Baby. The spots are Orly Buried Alive, Sinful Colors Secret Admirer and White On White. And as with any mani, I used a base coat (Sally Hansen Complete Care 4-in-1) and topped everything with HK Girl Fast Drying Topcoat (seriously, this is the best top coat EVER!) I love it so much,  I may have to do a review on it!

Dotting Initiation!

I'm backtracking on this post since I have another one to post tonight. I bought some dotting tools a while back and hadn't used them. I keep seeing flowers everywhere in the nail blogging community and decided to whip those bad boys out and have some fun! I really had fun doing this mani and seriously, people thought the flowers were decals! :)

I did a French mani using WnW French White Creme and Megalast Break the Ice. For the flower petals, I used Sinful Colors Forget Now, the centers is Sinful Colors Unicorn. Something was missing, so I dug around for a green polish and made little leaves using Sally Hansen Lacquer Shine in Glow! And tadaaaa!!
