Pahlish Shadow Proclamation

Purchased By Me

Happy Saturday!! Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far! I worked a half day today and it was one of the slowest I've worked, now I'm ready for a nap! :P

I have one more Bespoke to share with, then I'm done with the teasing! I promise!

Pahlish Shadow Proclamation is described as a linear gunmetal holographic with a mix of gunmetal and charcoal flakes with iridescent violet flakes. The darker flakes certainly stand out in this polish! This polish is named for the Shadow Proclamation in Doctor Who, the supreme law of the Universe.

Shown is 3 coats with Ellagee Grip and Glass.. isn't it beautiful??  I really love the dark flakes scattered throughout the holo.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!! I'm really getting back into the swing of things, in regards to blogging! I hope to have more posts up this weekend and squeeze in 1 more holiday nail art idea!

Pahlish Dreamer of Improbable Dreams

Purchased By Me

Happy Thursday!! 7 more days until Christmas, as my daughter excitedly reminded me this morning.. LOL. Do you have your shopping done? I have to finish a couple of online orders tomorrow morning and get stocking stuffers for the kids.

I mentioned in my Pahlish Sexy Fish Vampires post how I really wished I had grabbed the other Bespoke that was released at the same time. Well, I was able to get Dreamer of Improbable Dreams from an awesome person from the Pahlish group I'm! I was super excited when I got it in the mail :D

Source: A Little More Sonic

Dreamer of Improbable Dreams is described as a dusky garnet linear holographic with red and violet micro-flakes. Honestly, the first coat made me go ehhhh.. after I put the third coat on, though, I could not stop staring at my nails!

Shown is 3 coats of Dreamer of Improbable Dreams with Ellagee Grip and Glass.

I'm telling you.. Shannon could never, ever, ever go wrong with anything she puts out. All of the polishes I've bought have been absolutely amazing, both in quality and color/finishes.

Are you a Pahlish fan? Were you able to pick this up before it was gone?

See you tomorrow for another Pahlish post!! :D

Pahlish Dark Water

Purchased By Me

Good morning, everyone!! What's this?? Another post?? Why, yes, yes it is! Our babysitter's last day was supposed to be tomorrow, but she decided not to show up yesterday, so I've been staying home with my 4 year old until we find someone new. I'm able to squeeze in some time to do swatching and blogging.. wooo!!

Anywho.. I have another Pahlish Bespoke to share with you today! Dark Water is a beautiful violet-blue holo. This was inspired by the Doctor Who episode "Dark Water" from the 11th season. Sadly, I have yet to get caught up on the new season! For some reason, Peter Capaldi isn't quite doing it for me.. LOL.

I just can't get enough of Shannon's holos!! Shown is 3 coats of Dark Water with Ellagee Grip and Glass. I had to adjust the lighting in my light tent because my camera was freaking out.. haha!

How do you like the new photos? I've been using Photoshop for 10+ years and completely forgot that there was a crop tool, plus I've been playing around with hand poses and camera angles.

See my other post for information on Bespokes and other important Pahlish information! Sadly, this one isn't available for purchase anymore, but you may able to pick it up in a swap or blog sale!

Pahlish The Good Dalek

Purchased By Me

Happy Monday, everyone!!

I've been on a huuuuuge Pahlish kick lately, especially since Shannon has been whipping out Doctor Who inspired polishes left and right! I was able to snag the 3 Bespokes that were released several weeks ago and I have one of them to share with you tonight! I'll have more Pahlish spam for you later this week! ;)

The Good Dalek is described as a rose gold holographic with a mix of soft gold, red, and pink flakes. I used 3 coats of TGD with Ellagee Grip and Glass. I just loooove this polish!! It reminds of Rose and the episode "Dalek."

The flakes get absolutely lost in my photos with that amazing holo! Even under normal lighting, the holo is so beautiful!

Isn't she just gorgeous?! <3

This is still available for purchase on Pahlish's Big Cartel store and is $12 plus shipping for a 15mL bottle. All of Pahlish's polishes are 5-Free, as well! Get it while you can! Once it's gone, it's gone for good! Follow Pahlish on Facebook to keep up with news on new collections, restock dates, and sneak peeks of Bespokes.

12 Days of Christmas: Snowflakes

Nothing To Disclose

Good evening, guys and gals!! To help ease back into blogging, I decided to participate in Challenge Your Nail Art's 12 Days of Christmas!! :D

I absolutely loved the snowflake stamping I did last year, so I wanted to do something different, remembering I had a new stamping plate from Born Pretty Store to use with an awesome snowflake image on it.

I used Dollish Polish It's Bigger on the Inside (very appropriate for this time of the year with Doctor Who and Christmas ;) ) and stamped with QA86 and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Silver Sweep. I also used Ellagee Grip (base coat) and Glass (top coat).

I'd forgotten how much I loved stamping!

Be sure to check out the other blogger's snowflakes and I'll see you in a couple of days for Christmas trees!!

Gabriel Cosmetics ColorBLOCKade Swatches and Review

Press Sample

Good morning!! Hope your day is going well!! :)

Today I have all 5 shades from the ColorBLOCKade collection from Gabriel Cosmetics! This bright, fun collection consists of 3 cremes and 2 shimmers. I used Ellagee Grip and Glass for all photos and are shown with 2 coats except Golden Yellow, which is 3 coats. Dry time on all of these were fantastic! The black caps can be easily removed for easier application.

Holiday Red is a beautiful cherry red with gold shimmer. The shimmer kind of gets lost after the second coat, but it's still a beautiful color and my favorite from the collection. Perfect for the upcoming holiday!

Raspberry is a gorgeous berry creme. This was incredibly glossy on it's own. Definitely a favorite and one that can be worn year round. Cremes and I don't along at all, so I'm pretty impressed with the formula on this one.

Cashmere is a mannequin hands/taupe creme that actually looks gorgeous with my skin tone. It's hard to find a shade this color that doesn't make me look red! Has the same great formula as Raspberry.

Petrol Blue is a bluish-grey creme that leans more on the blue side. Very beautiful color and great formula as well!

Lastly, we have Golden Yellow, AKA the troublemaker. Golden Yellow is a banana yellow with a shimmer that fails to photograph on the nail. I really wanted to love this color. It makes my skin look all sorts of weird. Yellows and my skin tone don't get along. I did have to use 3 coats to get rid of any streakiness the second coat left.

Overall, this is a really great collection. I'm really impressed with the quality and formula of these polishes. Each polish is 14ml and retails for $8.50 per bottle. Gabriel Cosmetics has more than just nail polish! They have a huge range of cosmetics, from lipsticks to brushes to kids bath products. Be sure to follow on Facebook for updates on new collections, events, and much more!!

Ellagee Bling in the New Year Swatches and Review

Press Sample

Yep yep!! Another post for you today!!

This post is long overdue and I sincerely apologize to everyone, especially Laura!!

Ellagee recently released 3 collections and I have the Bling in the New Year collection to share with you today! Hard to believe the end of the year is a month away!!

Bling in the New Year is a 6-piece collection of sheer shimmers with a dusting of holo  micro glitters and they are absolutely beeeeautiful!! I was drooling the entire several times I swatched these! These can be worn alone or layered on top of another color, I chose to show these on their own. Each bottle also comes with a removable iridescent crystal ring. This is a photo heavy post, so check out the rest of the review after the jump!

Pahlish Sexy Fish Vampires

Purchased By Me

Happy Sunday!! I'm finally able (wanting?) to sit down, edit photos, and do some blogging!! Woohoo!!

If you've read my blog for a while, then you know I'm a huge Doctor Who fan. Seriously.. as I'm writing this blog post, I'm watching rewatching Season 2 for the gazillionth time this year! ;)

Shannon from Pahlish is a goddess when it comes to nail polish and Doctor Who inspired ones! A few weeks ago, she released a couple of Bespokes that were Who inspired. I was able to snag Sexy Fish Vampires, a beautiful "candy pink linear holographic packed with iridescent hot pink flakes." Sexy Fish Vampires refers to the Saturnyns from the episode "The Vampires of Venice." I'm really kicking myself for not getting the other one!

Even taken in my light tent with artificial daylight lighting,  you can see the gorgeous holo! I'm not really a pink person, but this is one of my favorite polishes. I used 3 coats of SFV and Ellagee Grip and Glass. Application was amazing! I had some pulling on the second coat, but that's to be expected from holos. The third coat evened everything out and the polish is the right consistency so it's not thick. Unfortunately, this isn't available for purchase anymore, but you may be able to pick it up from a blog sale! Be sure to follow Pahlish on Facebook for restocks, sneak peeks of new collections, Bespokes and Duos!!

Are you a fellow Whovian?

Fall Floral Stamping With KBShimmer and Emily de Molly

Howdy do!! I know, I know.. it's been forever and a day since I've posted :( Everything is crazy at work with the remodel, it seems like I'm doing a lot more at work apart from my normal duties, and when I get home and do "mom" things, there just isn't time to do anything nail polish related. But alas!! I was inspired by some of sveta_sanders work on Instagram and had to do some stamping! :D

I was going for a fall floral theme. I did a gradient using KBShimmer Rust No One and Up & Cunning from the Fall 2014 collection, and Sally Hansen Salon Nail Lacquer Black Patent and EDM05. I am in love with the Emily de Molly stamping plates, so I knew this stamp would be beautiful! Seriously, I've been wearing this for over a week now! I used Ellagee Grip and Glass for my base and top coats. Can I just say here how much I love Glass?! Like, honestly?? This is the first time since I've been stamping that a top coat did not smear my designs!!

I'm absolutely in love with this! Gradients and stamping are definitely becoming my thing. My 8 year old daughter loved this so much I had to do her nails the same way!

Are you wearing fall colors or doing fall themed nail art? Let me know in the comments!

Reverie Nail Lacquer Fall 2014 - Partial Swatch and Review

Press Sample

Hey all!! I was hoping to have this up Sunday, but somehow the weekend got away from me!

I was fortunate enough to be chosen to review a couple of polishes from Reverie Nail Lacquer's Fall Collection (formerly Two Gypsies Nail Lacquer). Both polishes I received are absolutely gorgeous!! I was in love as soon as I pulled them out of the package <3 I also received a cuticle balm that's cranberry scented!

Dog Days is a pale blue jelly with blue and yellow hex glitters in various sizes, as well as iridescent hex glitters.

Shown is 3 coats and top coated with Ellagee Glass. Application was amazing for something filled to the brim with glitters. I did have to fish for the larger hex glitters, but a lot of them were easy to get out. Dog Days usually refers to the hot period between August and September and this is definitely fitting! This will be perfect for spring, my second favorite season (fall being my first!)

And, for me, the star of the show! Nightfall.. there are just no words to describe how lovely this polish is. It was love at first swipe! Nightfall is a dusty sable-lilac with teal micro glitters and a beautiful holo shimmer running throughout it. Shown is 3 coats and top coated with Ellagee Glass.

Look at her glow!! There really are no words to describe how beautiful this polish is! I can't even accurately describe the base color.. is it purple? Is it brown? Raisin?

Blurred to show the teal micro glitters!

Ughhhh.. this is just too gorgeous! I've been wearing this since Sunday night, that's how much I love this polish!!

And some fun macro shots for your viewing pleasure ;)

I don't have a review of the cuticle balm since I really haven't had a chance to test it out, but I did want to share some quick thoughts about it! I absolutely love the scent.. it's not overpowering, but the scent does linger, which I personally like. I could smell the cranberry scent as soon as I took off the protective wrapper. It smells so yummy I  want to eat it! The cuticle balms come in a twist-up type tube that lip balms usually come in. I find it really convenient since I like to put my cuticle stuff in my smock pocket for work, and these take up less space in my pocket. There are several scents available, as well as unscented.

The fall collection of polishes will be available to order on Reverie Nail Lacquer's shop on September 27th. All polishes are 3-free and cruelty free. Be sure to like them on Facebook to keep with news, current and future collections! Also, don't forget to follow them on Instagram!

Have you tried Reverie Nail Lacquer? Let me know what you think!!

NOTD - Nail Pattern Boldness Hello Sweetie and Stamping

Hi guys!! It's been forever since I've been able/wanting to blog! I'm slowly getting back into loving nail polish and wanting to paint my nails. Tuesday night, I decided to actually sit down and do some kind of nail art. I can tell I've been out of the nail polish game for awhile because everything I tried was a huge flop!! This time, I was determined to get it right!

I used Nail Pattern Boldness Hello Sweetie for my base polish, which is one of my most absolute favorite Doctor Who nail polishes, and makes me so ready for fall!! I stamped using Pueen SE04B and Essie Penny Talk and mattified it with Hard Candy Matte-ly In Love. For whatever reason, the polish doesn't look matte, but I promise you, it is!! I was trying to go for an autumnal flower-y look :P

Nail Pattern Boldness Hello Sweetie and Stamping With Pueen SE04B

Jelly polishes and I don't get along!! My polish shrank as soon as I top coated it :( Regardless, I still love this and stamping over glitter-based polishes is one of my favorite things to do :D

Have you tried the new Pueen Special Encore plates yet?

Hope to see you guys next time!!

Influenster TLC VoxBox Review

Provided for Review

Hey guys!! I was recently send the Influenster TLC (Tender Loving Care) VoxBox, which is great for moms on-the-go! I really love getting the VoxBoxes from Influenster and this was no exception! Keep reading for what I got and my opinion of everything!

  • Neosporin Neo to Go! | $4.97-7.50, prices may vary at different stores/locations - I'm a huge fan of Neosporin. Having two kids who are constantly tripping over their own two feet, we see a lot of boo boos! This is perfect for tucking away in your purse or diaper bag, or even stashing in your desk drawer for those pesky paper cuts!
  • Shell Fuel Rewards Network Card - I really need to start using this! The FRN program is a (free) loyalty program that helps save money on gas. Currently, new members can save 25 cents per gallon on the second fill and 3 cents per gallon after! I conveniently live down the street from a Shell station, so it would make sense to start using this since I get most of my gas there ;) And it's easy to use! Use swipe your card at the pump before you use your credit/debit card if you pay at the pump like I do!
  • Avon Anew Reversalist Express Wrinkle Smoother | $30 - I love Avon products.. I've loved them since I was a kid and my mom and grandma would order Avon. I was really excited about getting this product since I'm at the age where I'm starting to get fine lines and wrinkles, especially around the eye area. I've only used this a couple of times, so I haven't noticed any difference. This is supposed to "instantly" blur the look of wrinkles on the forehead and around the eyes. It's a cream-to-powder formula and does feel really silky.

*If you're interested in checking out more Avon Anew products like this, be sure to check out AVON.com and use the code ANEW15 to receive 15% of your purchase of $50 or more! Code is valid until 8/1/14. (This is for direct delivery only!)
  • Puffs to Go: Puffs Plus Lotion | 49 cents per single pack, prices may vary at different stores/locations - With the cool weather hitting Illinois right now, these are perfect for tucking in purses, pockets, diaper bags, especially for me, since I seem to catch a cold whenever there is a dramatic temperature change. I love the Puffs Plus Lotion because it's soothing on your nose and doesn't feel like you're wiping or blowing your nose with sandpaper.. LOL.
  • Ivory Bar Soap | $3.99 for a 10-pack, prices may vary at different stores/locations - I'll be honest. I cannot stand bar soap. I don't like how dry and tight my skin feels after using bar soap, so I stick to shower gels. Ivory is 99.44% pure and contains no dyes or heavy perfumes. I probably won't use this in the shower, but since I'm a huge DIYer on cleaning products and whatnot, I'm going to search the interwebz for other uses! :)
  • Breyers Gelato Indulgences | $4.49-5.99, prices may vary at different stores/location - I've never heard of this before getting the TLC VoxBox. I'll have to look for these the next time I go grocery shopping. Currently, it looks like there are only 4 flavors.

Overall, this was another great box! Definitely a lot of stuff I'll be using! :D

*Products provided complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes

Life in Lacquer July Nail Art Challenge AND Challenge Your Nail Art!

Hey guys!! I think I may have taken on a bit much with this, but I'm going to *try* to do two challenges this month!

Life in Lacquer is hosting the Life in Lacquer July Nail Art Challenge and I'm also participating in this month's Challenge Your Nail Art, with the theme being Embrace Your Geekness. Can you say that I totally geeked out when I saw what the prompts for today were for both challenges?! ;) I missed the first day on the Life in Lacquer Nail Art Challenge, but I did do the second one (with a blog post coming soon!) So now we're on the 10th, Film or TV Inspired.. scroll down for the CYNA themes!! Faaandom!!

Ahshjkghkdjhgjdkg.. that's how I pretty much was!! For those who know me, I am a huuuge Whovian/Doctor Who fan and I knew I wanted to do something themed around that. So what better way to represent Doctor Who than galazy nails and the TARDIS?! My freehand skills are non-existent, but I love how the TARDIS turned out!! :D

I used Milani Black Swift as my base color, sponged on Orly Gumdrop, Zoya Song, Audrina, and Purity, and added China Glaze Fairy Dust to the open black areas. I used white acrylic paint for the stars. I used acrylic paint for the TARDIS. My nail beds are so tiny I couldn't actually write Police Box on it :P

These nail art challenges are exactly what I needed to get back to blogging!! :D Until next time!! :D

Be sure to check out the other awesome nail art from a lot of talented people!!

4th of July Nail Art

Press Sample

Hi guys!! I really wanted to get back into nail art since that's why I fell in love with nail polish to begin with, so here's something I did for the 4th of July!! :) I used Zoya Song as my base color on all nails, then using the plastic wrap technique, added random splotches to all my nails (except the ring finger) using Zoya Livingston, Purity, and Song. Almost looks like splatter nails! On my accent nail, I sponged on Shimmer Nichole. Not your typical 4th of July stuff, but I absolutely love it! ;)

I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday! I'll be enjoying a 3-day weekend and my daughter's birthday party on Sunday! Feel free to share your 4th of July nails on my Facebook page or tag me on IG @polishedandglittered or hashtag me with #polishedandglittered :D

Products in this post were provided for review. All opinions are my own. See disclosure.

UPDATE: Where have I been??

Hey guys!! I just wanted to stop by and give a short update as to why I haven't been blogging as much as I used to.. Honestly, with having no time to do anything, I fell off the nail polish bandwagon :( I work full time, I'm mom to two kiddos, so with that comes housework and doing mom stuff. We recently pulled our kids from daycare and hired an in-home babysitter, so that is messing with my sleep schedule a lot since I have to get up earlier! I'm usually asleep by 9-10. I'm hoping to get back to blogging and swatching and doing my absolute favorite, nail art. My nails haven't been painted in about two months. If you follow me on Instagram, you'll see that I've been doing a lot of FOTD posts because makeup is my first love, followed by nail polish. I have the spring collections from Zoya and Barielle to swatch today.. that is my goal!! Get all of those swatched and put on the blog before I go to bed tonight!! Thank you to those who are still following me, and I'm sorry to those who have unfollowed due to lack of posting.. I completely understand!!

Barielle Nude & Naughty Collection - Swatches and Review

Press Samples

Happy Monday, President's Day.. whatever! Hope everyone is staying safe during this ice storm!

Firstly, I want to apologize for not posting as much as I normally do.. I'm looking into being tested for adrenal fatigue because no matter how many hours of sleep I get, I'm still exhausted when I get up in the morning. I don't know if it's adrenal fatigue, combined with being busy at work, busy at home, or what, but I need to figure it out!

A couple of weeks ago, Barielle reached out to me, inviting me to be a part of their blogger family. I was super stoked and said yes! I have to say, Barielle is very generous! I received nail care products and the Nude & Naughty Collection.

Barielle let me choose what nail care products I wanted to review, so I picked the Hydrating Ridge Filler with Silk FiberNo Chip Speed Dry with Silk Protein top coat, and Nail Strengthener Cream. Barielle sent me the tube and I received that after I got my first package :D I'll have a separate review of the cream posted at a later date.

I've been wanting to try a good ridge filling base coat for awhile now. I have really deep ridges on my thumbs, so I was really excited to try this out! It didn't completely fill the ridges on my thumbs at first glance, but after polishing my nails, it did a really great job of filling in the ridges. This dries to a matte finish, which I absolutely love. The only downfall I found was that I couldn't remember if I put base coat on and ended up doubling up a couple of times :D

I am in love with nudes and browns right now.. and the Nude & Naughty collection is right up my alley. I just love the names of the polishes! From left to right, Pillow Talk, Very Bare, No Not Now, I Got a Headache, and In Good Taste. All swatches are two coats with Barielle No Chip Speed Dry top coat. 3 coats would have been ideal since I did have some dragging with the second coat, but I think that may just be user error, since cremes and I don't get along! The formula on all of these is amazing! I was in love at first swipe!

Very Bare is a pale pink creme, although it does behave like a jelly, as well. I absolutely love this color and it's a great palette cleanser. Definitely a favorite!

Pillow Talk is a pale peach creme. Exact same formula and consistency as Very Bare. Beautiful shade, and I looove how this looked with my skin tone. Doesn't make me look red or yellow-y!

In Good Taste is a gorgeous milk chocolately brown creme. I love a good chocolate brown polish!

No Not Now is a sheer toffee. Love this color! Another one that looks great with my skin tone!

And lastly, another favorite.. I Got a Headache (LOOOVE this name!!).. this is a shimmery caramel and I love the gold flakey shimmer in this! Absolutely gorgeous and my favorite of the entire collection <3

And another shot..

Isn't it gorgeous!!

Overall, this is a great collection.. I love every single shade in it! The ridge filler is amazing, the top coat is about average as far as quick dry top coats go. It didn't dry my polish any quicker than other top coats I use. It does say that it has UV protection and prevents dark colors from fading and light colors from yellowing. I normally don't wear polish long enough to test that out, but I will do another post on just the top coat, maybe do some comparisons.

Barielle can be purchased at barielle.com, Nail polishes are 3-Free and retail for $8 each, or you can buy the kits for $25, which brings each bottle to $5 each <---- amazing deal!! The ridge filler is $16 and top coat is $12.50. Barielle always has amazing specials going on, so definitely subscribe to their newsletter! Also, don't forget to check out their Facebook page for contests!
