Mint Mani for Talia Joy

On Tuesday, July 16, 2013, the world lost a truly amazing person, Talia Joy. Talia was fighting two types of cancer, neuroblastoma and preleukemia, and was only 13 years old.

I learned about Talia several months ago, during one of my Youtube-athons. Watching one video led to another, which eventually led me to Talia's channel. For being 13 years old and facing cancer head on, she remained positive throughout everything and LOVED anything makeup related. I immediately subscribed to her channel. When I learned of her passing, I was devastated. I couldn't read anything on Facebook about her without tearing up and wanting to bawl. It's still sad to watch her videos, knowing that she is gone from this earth, but Talia gained her angel wings and is now free from pain.

Nicole from Nail Polish Wars had the awesome idea of having the nail polish community do mint manis today in honor of Talia, and because the last mani Talia posted on Instagram was of her hand, her mom's, and sister's, painted with POP Beauty Mint Magic.

I kept my nails somewhat on the simple side. I used 3 coats of China Glaze For Audrey. On my ring and middle fingers and thumb, I used plastic wrap and China Glaze Deviantly Daring. On my pinky and index finger, I did a reverse gradient with Shimmer Jennifer.

If you're posting your manis on any social media site that supports hashtags, be sure to use #mintmanisfortaliajoy and #taliaslegacy.

May you rest in peace, sweet Talia, and your legacy live on forever <3
