Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Swatches and Review

Provided For Review

Oh, Sunday, how I don't like you! :( Tomorrow means going back to work for 5 and a half days, since I have to work 4 hours on Saturday!

Today I have 4 polishes from the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure line that Coty (the parent company) was kind enough to send for review (along with some NYC goodies.. review coming soon!)

This is what Sally Hansen has to say about the Complete Salon Manicure line:

"Skip the salon, get the results. Don't settle for just color when you can get a base coat, strengthener, growth treatment, salon-inspired color, top coat, chip-resistance and a gel finish all in 1 bottle. Featuring the unique precision brush for a flawless finish and patented Vita Care technology for advanced 10 day wear, more shine and nourishing care."

As of now, it looks like there are 49 shades in this line of polish on their website.

All photos are taken using a lightbox with daylight light bulbs.

I Lilac You, Arm Candy, and Barracude

Arm Candy is a pale pink jelly. Shown is 3 coats with no top coat. I love neutral/nude jellies! Probably best to wear on nails that aren't perpetually stained, though. I love using the CSM jellies for jelly sandwiches :) Application was that of a typical jelly. These polishes also have a large paddle brush that I'm not particularly fond of, since I have small nails, but it's nothing that would prevent me from buying more :) The brushes also hold a lot of polish, so I had to do a lot of wiping of the brush so as not to flood my nails/cuticles with polish.

Barracuda is a light blue creme, closer to a Tiffany Blue than a mint. Shown is 3 coats with Glossy Glam top coat to even out the polish and disguise any streakiness. I find cremes are one of my downfalls, depending on the brand. This applied streaky on the first coat, and even after letting the first and second coats dry before applying the next, I still had some streaking and balding. Dry time was pretty good between coats, as well. I can definitely see using this for nail art, though, or for pedicures!

I Lilac You is, of course, lilac! I think it leans more towards a grey-lilac than a true lilac. Shown is 3 coats with Glossy Glam top coat. Application was the same as Barracuda. Another polish that will be great for nail art and pedicures :)

And finally, we have Mermaid's Tale, which is supposed to be a dupe for Deborah Lippman's Across the Universe. Mermaid's Tale is a darkened blue/black jelly with blue and green hex glitters and smaller blue glitters. Shown is 3 coats with Glam Gloss top coat. Application was typical of jellies and with this much glitter in the base, it's best to wait for each coat to dry, otherwise you'll have dragging and glitter concentrated in one area of your nail!

And a fun macro shot!! Look at all that glitter!!

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure retails for approximately $7.99 USD for a 14.7ml bottle, depending on store/location. You can find them at CVSTargetWalmartWalgreensdrugstore.com, and Amazon. Also be sure to check out Sally Hansen on Facebook!

Have you tried out the Complete Salon Manicure line yet? Any thoughts or favorite shades?
